In almost all cultures that have used it, salt was synonymous with wealth before becoming a condiment. Soldiers were paid in salt. It was counted, kept, and passed down. No other ordinary substance has carried such a burden for so long.

Green is the salt of abundance. Not the one you use when everything is missing – the one you hold when something begins: a signature, a launch, a decision you took six months to make.

The gesture — A pinch in bath water, or three grams mixed with your own coarse salt. Also a pinch in the northeast corner of a room, in an envelope, under a crate. Renew with each cycle.
